Join us for one of our favourite events of the summer! Meet us at First Pentecostal Church at 6:00 p.m. if you wish to carpool with us to Pasadena Beach. For our Pasadena, Deer Lake, and surrounding area pals, feel free to meet us at the beach at approximately 6:30 p.m.
We’re going old school with an outdoor movie night along with a beach fire. You can look forward to beach volleyball, swimming, s’mores by the fire, and an outdoor movie. Bring a blanket or chair, and feel free to bring along a snack of your choice! We’ll post a poll so you can help choose the movie! We hope to see you there!

Swimming + Grill Up

ABOUT THIS EVENT
Join us as we go swimming at Blow Me Down Brook Trail, near Lark Harbour, followed by a grill up. Meet us at First Pentecostal Church at 2 p.m. to carpool to and from Blow Me Down Brook. We recommend bringing sturdy shoes, as there is a rocky trail leading into the swimming hole! Bring along your swimming gear + towel and come ready for hamburgers & hot dogs! We hope to see you there!
Young Adult Breakaway
Young Adult Breakaway
We’re excited to launch for the first time - Young Adult Breakaway. It is a 4 day camp for Young Adults to have the YB experience, to grow in their faith, make connections with peers, have intentional presence with the Holy Spirit while having a lot of fun.
Ages: 18-25 (18 years old, as of August 27 and 25 years old, as of January 1st, 2026). 2026 highschool graduates can only attend Youth Breakaway Two are not eligible to attend YA Breakaway.

Aaron is a proud Newfoundlander, who absolutely dies for a cold plate, and could not be more excited to grace the grounds of ECC where much of his formative experiences with Jesus occurred. Despite Newfoundland always being “home”, Aaron along with his wife Emily, daughter Maddie, and beloved lab, Goose, live in Medicine Hat, Alberta where he serves as Lead Pastor of a church called First Assembly and chaplain for the Medicine Hat Tigers. While the practice is different, many of the principles at the core of Aaron’s ministry are linked to formative encounters at the very place we will gather in August. He longs for young people to experience the presence of God, for them to become lasting disciples of Jesus Christ, and be empowered to share the Gospel
Upwell Worship is a collective of worship leaders, musicians, and creatives from churches across St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. United by a shared passion for Jesus and the local Church, their heart is to create spaces where people can encounter God through worship, prayer, and community. The name “Upwell” reflects the idea of deep waters rising to the surface — a picture of spiritual renewal and awakening. Our mission is to see hearts awakened to the presence of God through authentic, Spirit-led worship centered fully on Jesus. Though we come from different church backgrounds and denominations, we believe in the unity of the Church and the power of worship to bring people together. We are especially passionate about seeing young adults encounter the Holy Spirit, live with zeal and passion in their faith, and allow that passion to overflow through their worship and everyday lives.

Women's Conference
We are so looking forward to seeing you and sharing together for this conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “PURSUIT.” Philippians 3:14 says, "I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." (NLT) The word ‘PURSUIT’ means the act of chasing or following someone/something, the effort to achieve a goal. It is our prayer that as the women of Newfoundland & Labrador, it would be our desire to follow after and press on toward the pursuit of knowing Jesus, living for Jesus, and reaching others for Him. May this conference be the means to inspire and challenge us to draw closer to Him and run this race well.
2026 Women’s Conference
Pastor Courtney O’Reilly from Rocky Harbour will be joining us as our Worship Leader, and we look forward to having her with us again at the Women’s Conference.
We are so excited to welcome Pastor Tricia Gibb Lane from Sarnia, Ontario as our Keynote Speaker. We are looking forward to hearing from her through the ministry of the Word.
Our Prayer Coordinator, Pastor Kim Foster, will be facilitating our special Prayer Session on Saturday morning at 10AM. We believe this will be another powerful time as we share together in prayer.
Pastor Jeremy Nippard, Executive Director of MDSI, will be joining us for a special Saturday afternoon session on the Holy Spirit. You won’t want to miss it!
On the Saturday evening, we will be receiving the Missionary Care Fund Offering. We are asking each of you to come prepared to give sacrificially towards this very important offering for our Global Workers. We would like to challenge every lady to come prepared with an offering of at least $20.00 each (if possible). Last year we collected $15,000 towards this goal. Wouldn’t it be amazing to reach that goal again. I believe we can do it!
Note the process for accommodations. We will still give everyone fair opportunity to send in their application for accommodations (due Friday, July 17th) and the draw will take place on Tuesday, July 21st. However, we won’t be asking you to send in your monies with your application. We will confirm whether you are successful in the draw before asking you to forward your monies. PLEASE NOTE: We will require the registration monies to be sent in right away once confirmation has been received by you.

Meet us at First Pentecostal Church at 5:30 p.m. if you wish to carpool with us to the Steady Brook Falls hiking trail. This hiking trail is approximately 1.3 km long, with some rugged areas, so we recommend dressing accordingly in your hiking boots or sneakers!
If you’re not up for a hike, join us later at FPC for a dip night! We’ll meet you during our usual Tuesday gathering time (7:45 p.m), bring along your favourite dip and join us as we watch a movie! Want to do both? No worries, you can drop off your dip at FPC and grab it once we’re back. We’ll also post a poll to determine the movie! We hope to see you there!

Connection events are opportunities for you to connect with other young adults. This week, we’re having a board game night + Mario Kart tournament. Simple as it may be, we’re hoping for a great night of fun, belonging and relaxation together. See you there!

Retreat: The Wilds
REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
The Retreat
This is an annual Young Adult Retreat for Post-Secondary Students, Young Professionals, and basically anyone between the ages of 18-30 (you must be 18 on or before February 20, 2026). This is an intentional weekend away to grow your friendships, community and to grow in your faith. The weekend includes worship gatherings with speaking, along with perspectives of life and faith experience. There will be times of adventure and times to relax. It is a weekend that we look forward to every year! We'd love for you to join us.
The Wilds
We couldn’t think of a cooler location for this weekend! The Wilds is located just outside of St. John’s (near Holyrood off of Salmonier Line), during the summer it is a picturesque golf resort, during the winter? It’s our playground!
You’ll be well accommodated in comfortable Hotel rooms, with your friends, and during your free time you can lounge by the fire, play board games in the cafe, join a traditional NL boil-up (aka: a fire outside where snacks can be cooked over the fire), sledding, or walk around in the wintery-wonderland-like grounds.
If you desire a private room, for yourself (or you and your spouse), we can accommodate that request for an extra cost. Details will be noted in the registration form.

The Logistics
$170 for Registration: EMT Bethesda via give@bethesda.ca and note “YA Retreat: Your Name” in the memo.
Registration and payment is due by January 18th!
This includes all activities, food and accommodations. Please note that this price point is with accommodations of 4 people per room with two double beds. If you love your privacy and would like to secure a room for yourself alone or with just one other friend, we can also do this at an extra cost. We will determine this cost based on your request.
Less than $80 for Transportation: Contact Pastor Micah if you’d like transporation.
We all split the fuel costs, which typically costs under $80 per person (calculated after retreat). This is separate from the $170 registation payable to Bethesda. Don't send the transportation fee with your registration costs.
CAUTION: Driving across Newfoundland is a risk. Please have $100 available in case we decide to stay overnight in central to avoid risky driving conditions.

Young Adult + Youth Rally
In 2025, First Pentecostal Church is celebrating its 100th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, we will be partnering with Haven Youth to host a Youth and Young Adult Rally on Saturday, November 29th, @7pm. Students in Grades 7 and young adults up to age 25 are invited to join us for a great night of worship, the Word, and a time of connection afterwards.
